GMS TravelStar Online Quotation and Application Update
Based on your valuable feedback, we have updated the TravelStar online quotation and purchasing process. These updates have been designed to improve your online experience.
Effective November 17, 2011, when you log into the GMS website and click on the Travel Insurance application shortcut, you’ll notice the following changes:
- an option to answer medical questions in Step 1, which will ensure applicants receive faster, more accurate quotes;
- a redesigned medical questionnaire available in Step 1 of the application process that will allow two applicants aged 60 and over to answer the questions at the same time;
- if the medical questionnaire is completed in Step 1, applicants will not be required to complete the medical questionnaire in Step 3 as the fields will already be populated;
- please note that we have defaulted all the answers to “No” to help speed up the questionnaire process. It will be your responsibility to review each question with the client and ensure the questions are answered correctly;
- the tobacco usage question will be asked in Step 1 so that the information is incorporated in the quoted price;
- a rate band comparison table will be displayed under the trip summary when travellers opt for Single Trip Emergency Medical and are aged 60 and over (this option will only be available to brokers who sign into the GMS website);
- when the age and birth date entered do not match, you will have the option of either re-entering the birth date to match the age or keeping the birth date as entered, in which case a new price will be quoted to match the adjusted age;
- at the end of the application process, revised travel coverage documents, which include an application summary and tax receipt, can be saved or printed (to see a sample click here); and
- in the body of the e-mail confirmation, a link to access the new coverage documents will be available—giving you and your clients the option to access the documents at a later date. To retrieve the documents using the link, a validation process will be required. To validate, simply enter the policyholder’s telephone number or postal code.
